The 2022 Aston Martin DB11-car specifications and price

The 2022 Aston Martin DB11 straddles the border between sports vehicle and grand tourer. Whether equipped with a fixed roof or a retractable soft top, its long, low, and wide body draws attention.

This rear-drive-only Aston Martin comes with a massive 630-hp twin-turbo V-12, but it's only available in coupe form, comes at a hefty premium, and can overwhelm the back tires. The standard 528-hp twin-turbo V-8 isn't as powerful, but it's still a thrill to drive.

Both engines, when paired with an eight-speed automatic, produce exciting soundtracks and raucous acceleration, allowing this car to go from comfortable to rambunctious in under three minutes. Despite several interior flaws and cramped back seats, the DB11's cabin is spacious and readily customisable.

What's new in the car?

The DB11's base V-8 gets a 25-hp increase for 2022, bringing its total output to 528 horsepower. The improvement increases the claimed top speed to 192 mph, up from 187 mph previously.

Inside, the DB11 now comes with Aston's Sports Plus seats, which have more bolstering to keep occupants safer during high-speed driving.

Buyers can customize the cabin even more with new design themes. Although the sleek 2+2-seater still has a twin-turbo V-12 engine, the AMR (Aston Martin Racing) emblem has been removed.

Performance, Engine, and Transmission

A twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 or a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V-12 are available in the DB11. The former produces 528 horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque, whereas the latter produces 630 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

Both vehicles are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends all of the torque to the rear wheels. We put a detuned 600-hp V-12 DB11 to the test, and it was incredibly speedy.

We recently drove the V-12-powered DB11 in northern Germany and were blown away by its tremendous propulsion, athletic maneuvers, and equally melodic and terrifying exhaust note. We've also gotten behind the wheel of the V-8 variants.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy

The DB11's only engine options are a strong V-8 and V-12, thus fuel economy is definitely a low priority. Despite this, the V-8 gets a decent 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the interstate.

The 12-cylinder model is less fuel efficient, achieving 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the interstate. In comparison, the W-12-powered Bentley Continental GT gets 12 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the interstate.

Cargo, Interior, and Comfort

Every DB11 has a comfortable interior that can be customized with imaginative colors and exotic materials. We've noticed minor inconsistencies in panel fitment and switchgear that feels fairly cheap.

Nonetheless, these flaws pale in comparison to the generally lavish and adrenaline-pumping experience of driving this vehicle. Leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, and passive entry are standard on all models.

The front seats are ventilated and the steering wheel is heated. Apart from the center-console bin, which pulls open to reveal cupholders and a helpful tray, there aren't many places inside the DB11 to put small objects.

Connectivity and Infotainment

The infotainment system, which is derived from Mercedes-Benz, features easy-to-use controls and appealing menus.

The conventional rotary controller or the optional touchpad on the center console are used to select items on the 8.0-inch screen.

Every DB11 comes with a Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as a 400-watt stereo system and SiriusXM satellite radio. Customers can choose between a 700-watt or a 1000-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Features for Driver Assistance and Safety

Blind-spot monitoring and parking-assistance software are available for those interested in driver-assistance technologies. The following are important safety features:

  1. 360-degree camera system as standard
  2. Front and rear parking sensors are included.
  3. Self-parking is an option that is available.

Coverage for Warranty and Maintenance

Limited and powertrain warranties from Aston Martin are comparable to those offered by other high-end automakers. Aston, on the other hand, does not include any maintenance visits in its coverage, unlike the competition.

  • Three years and unlimited miles are covered by the limited warranty.
  • Three years and unlimited miles are included in the powertrain warranty.
  • There is no free planned maintenance.
