The 2022 Lamborghini Urus-car specifications and price

On paper, the Lamborghini Urus' 641 horsepower appears to be outclassed by the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk's 707 horsepower Hellcat-powered engine. Only one of these wild cars, though, has the title of fastest SUV we've ever seen at Virginia International Raceway's annual Lightning Lap event.

It's the Lambo, which costs over a quarter-million dollars for those who didn't guess. This is the starting point for owning a radically styled SUV of this caliber. Along with incredible track performance for its size, the Urus has certain features that the Lamborghini Aventador and Huracán don't: a back seat, usable cargo capacity, and towing capability. The interior workmanship of the 2022 Lamborghini Urus isn't as outstanding as its supercar siblings', and it's the definition of a gas guzzler.

The 2022 Lamborghini Urus is easily the most badass family transporter on the globe, even if its interior workmanship isn't as good as its supercar siblings' and it's the exact definition of a gas guzzler.

What's new in the car?

Lamborghini does not make any significant alterations to the Urus for 2022. The hyper SUV retains its 641-hp twin-turbo V-8 engine, which is mated to an eight-speed automated transmission and all-wheel drive. Limited-edition models and unique look packs are common for the Italian carmaker, and any of them could be added during the model year.

Performance, Engine, and Transmission

The Urus is driven by a 641-horsepower twin-turbo V-8 engine that burbles loudly when idle and yells like a lion at full throttle. With all that power, permanent all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission work together to provide incredible acceleration.

The Urus exploded to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds in our testing and ripped across the quarter-mile in 11.3 seconds at 121 mph. The top speed is estimated to be 190 miles per hour by Lamborghini.

From behind the wheel, the Urus feels dynamic, with fast steering and stable high-speed cornering. The Urus has adjustable ride heights dependent on its various drive modes, thanks to air springs at all four corners.
The Urus' standard carbon-ceramic brakes ensure that it stops as quickly as it goes, stopping from 70 mph in just 149 feet.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy

Those who can afford a Urus are probably unconcerned about fuel economy, but Lamborghini's heaviest model loves to drink. The Urus is expected to get 12 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. While we haven't put it through its paces on our 200-mile interstate fuel-economy route, its mileage will undoubtedly vary depending on driving style.

Cargo, Interior, and Comfort

Passengers are met by a beautiful cabin that seems like it belongs in a Lamborghini. The start button is hidden beneath a crimson flip cover, and the shifter resembles a jet's throttle. The drive modes and performance settings that can be customized are controlled by levers to the left of the shifter.Faux-suede and carbon-fiber trim abound, while the infotainment system and reconfigurable instruments are straight out of an Audi. The back seat has plenty of legroom and can seat two to three people depending on the seating arrangement. Interior cubby storage is supplemented by door pockets and a bin behind the floating center stack.

Connectivity and Infotainment

Every Urus comes with the most up-to-date networking and entertainment technology. There are two touchscreens incorporated into the center stack that include climate, music, and other settings, in addition to a fully digital gauge cluster. Although the screens offer vivid images and huge icons, they lack the intuitiveness of traditional knobs and buttons.

Features for Driver Assistance and Safet

The Lambo SUV is also equipped with a number of driver-assistance systems, including a night-vision camera, which is an optional feature.

The following are important safety features:
  • Stop-and-go technology is standard on adaptive cruise control.
  • Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while self-parking assistance is optional.

Coverage for Warranty and Maintenance

Lamborghini's warranty is only three years long and does not include a mileage cap. It also doesn't come with any free planned maintenance. However, for a fee, the Italian automaker offers extended warranties and maintenance plans.

  1. Three years or unlimited miles are covered by the limited warranty.
  2. Three years or unlimited miles are covered under the powertrain warranty.
  3. There is no free planned maintenance.
